    When I used an online calculator to compare my current salary to my salary when I started here 11 years ago, I found that the money I bring home has $4,500 less buying power. This is pretty darned discouraging. I work hard, do a great job and go further and further in the hole every year because our salaries don't keep up with inflation. My guess is that if I used take home pay as comparison, the difference would be even more negative. I don't think we will ever have a truly great and motivated staff until this issue is resolved. If I weren't close to retirement, I would be looking elsewhere to an institution that valued my contributions.
